FAQs
WILL MY BUSINESS BE TURNED UPSIDE DOWN?
For business customers we’re happy to work outside of normal
office hours to ensure the smooth running of your operations.
HOW LONG WILL YOU TAKE TO FINISH MY FLOOR ?
If the floor is in an excessively poor state of repair you may need to allow a bit more time to fix it. All this will be explained at the free assessment so you can factor it in to your schedule. also remember that after we have finished and gone, you’ll need to allow a couple of days for the finish to cure the wood properly, before being able to walk over it again or to move your furniture back in.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH FITTED CARPETS?![]()
Wooden floors when repaired are well sealed to stop draughts and
it’s easy to keep them clean with a damp cloth. Use attractive rugs as well, which can
be taken out and thoroughly washed and dried at regular intervals. The absence of dust
will contribute significantly to the health of your household as well as
make the house look beautifully clean.
WHAT ABOUT THE GAPS?
We use various professional, eco-friendly resin and silicon sealing products to do this.
General commercial sealants are no use because they invariably crumble and fall
between the gaps. They often get sucked up by vacuum cleaners as well, and the finish
will not take kindly to a crumbling surface either!
WHAT TYPE OF FINISH DO YOU RECOMMEND?
If you choose varnish or wax for a finish bear in mind that you’ll have to get it recoated periodically to stay looking good. It will also require some minimum level of care. Varnish and wax will wear away over time and create a patched effect and so a floor finished using these products will have to be re-sanded again at some point, because it won’t be possible to patch it up. An oiled floor, however, has a protective barrier that goes right into the wood and such a floor can be repaired when it begins to wear in places. Local repairs will blend in perfectly well with the unaffected parts of the floor.
It really depends on what you want. High-spillage areas often benefit from the solid seal that a
varnish gives, and wax bestows a beautiful, warm sheen to a wooden floor. Contact us and
we’ll be happy to supply you with more information and advice.
